Ganesh Chaturthi also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi is one of the important Hindu festivals celebrated throughout India with a great devotion. The date of Ganesh Chaturthi comes on the fourth day after the new moon in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada. This is August or September each year. It's commonly celebrated for 9 to 11 days, with the biggest part of ganesh chaturthi taking place on the last day called Anant Chaturdashi.





Ganesha Chaturthi Date and timings:

In 2018, Ganesh Chaturthi is on September 13. Anant Chaturdashi is on September 23.
In 2019, Ganesh Chaturthi is on September 2. Anant Chaturdasi is on September 12.
In 2020, Ganesh Chaturthi is on August 22. Anant Chaturdashi is on September 1.

The Labh time is between06:30 and 08:01 and the Amrit time is 08:01 and 09:32. Ganpati ji can also be brought home (Avahana or Welcome) during the Shubh time which is between 11:03 and 12:33. The Muhurut for evening time would be the Labh time which is between 17:06 and 18:37.

Ganesha Chaturthi is the Hindu festivalcelebrated in honour of the god Ganesha, The son of Shiva and Parvati, Ganesha has an elephantine countenance with a curved trunk and big ears, and a huge pot-bellied body of a human being.He is the Lord of success and destroyer of evils and obstacles. He is also worshipped as the god of education, knowledge, wisdom and wealth.

How is Ganesh Chaturthi celebrate:

Ganesh may also be known by the names Ganapati, Ekadanta, Vinayaka, Pillaiyar and Heramba.For the ganesh puja bring the ganesh clay idol/vigraha during shubh,labh,amrit Ghadia(time) as above told time.Stapana in colorfully specially decorated mandapas.Decorate with garlands,color papers,lights.Before starting the Pooja take a cleansing bath and wear clean clothes. Clean the place of worship, Ganesh idol or picture and all other pooja articles. Place a betel leaf or a clean plate before the god. Make a Ganesh vigraha with turmeric and water to from a thick dough and shape it with your hands. Place kumkum on it and decorate it with flowers. Decorate the idol also with flowers and grass.Place the Prasad before the Lord on a banana leaf or clean plate. Plate fresh fruits and coconut.

Light the lamp and start the pooja. Offer flowers, fruits and Prasad to the Lord while chanting Ganesh Chaturthi mantra(below given).and read the vinayaka vratha kalpam and recites the 108 names of loard ganesha.End the pooja by offering prasad to everyone.people pray god for 3,5,7,9days or 11days in there home.last day idol taken out for nimajjana in river or ponds,lakes or in sea.

who started ganesh chaturthi festival:
Ganesh chaturthi celebrated by all over India more in south India and Gujarat and in Maharashtra.The year 1893 brought a major change in the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi.The Lokmanya Tilak, an Indian nationalist, social reformer and freedom fighter reformed the annual Ganesh festival, from being a private celebration into a grand public event. Till 1893,during the Swaraj movement, when Lord Ganesha was chosen as a rallying point for protest against British rule, because of his wide appeal as "the God for Everyman. Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations were in a private manner not done on a public scale.People used to celebrate it in a traditional manner. It was Lokmanya Tilak who popularized Ganesh Chaturthi as a national festival, after knowing its cultural importance. The reason for this was to enhance the sense of belongingness as well as togetherness among the citizens. It was also done with an aim to build a new grassroots unity between the Brahmins and the non-Brahmins.

Sri Saptamukha Vinayakudu” is the Basic Theme name of The Ganapati Vinayaka.  As per source the Ganapati  the Idol will have 7 headed Snake in the background. The Idol Will also have 14 Arms and 14 Ayudhams(Weapons). One each in a Hand.
